If players don't keep going with this side quest, Katria will continue to follow them in the overworld and is an immortal follower, not unlike Barbas with the Daedra's Best Friend quest. After a short conversation, Katria will agree to accompany the player to find the Aetherium Shard inside Arkngthamz. After entering, a ghostly voice will tell the player to turn back and leave, though if they continue ahead, the ghost of Katria will greet them and ask them what they are still doing there. After initiating Lost to the Ages, the player will be directed towards Arkngthamz, located just southeast of Dushnikh Yal in The Reach, near Markarth.
